Downloading the JDK

The JDK can be downloaded from the Oracle Website. At the time of writing, the current version was at Java SE Development Kit 8u77.

Which One Should I Download?

For Windows, there are two versions :

  1. Windows x86 if you are using Windows 32-bit version
  2. Windows x64 if you are using a 64-bit version.

Note. You can still install the 32-bit version of the JDK on a 64-bit version of Windows but the opposite does not work.
